It’s March 2017. It’s been a long time since I’ve updated this site, but I thought I’d post a bit of info now, and intend to now post regular updates. The big news…I’m now living in Ingolstadt.
It’s been an interesting, fantastic, and challenging 12 months. I’ve made many friends–of course many friendly natives, but also other foreigners from all over Europe. Each day–and that is no exaggeration–presents a new challenge whether it’s a learning new bit of German grammar, or finding my way around my new city, or figuring out why or how to fill out some bit of paperwork.
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been one of the most interesting years of my life. I find it amazing that there is so much culture and history all over, and so close to modern day-to-day living. There is a connection with the past, and that connection creates a richness that I haven’t experienced before. I’m impressed with the German sensibility of ecological sustainability, serious dedication to recycling, and support/development of truly green power sources. There is great thought for the future, and the importance of preserving natural resources is inculcated into citizens from an early age. I find this admirable.
